Camp Now Taking Registrations

Campers examine specimens collected in local creek and explore the creek habitat.

This summer will mark the sixth year that area students have attended the CSI: Shawnee Science Camp at Camp Oyo.  The award winning camp is open to students currently in 5-8th grade and focuses on outdoor skills and nature.  Camp attendees will learn about forestry, insects, stream quality, animals, and gain experience in skills like canoeing and GPS units.
The CSI in CSI: Shawnee Science Camp stands for Conservation Science Investigations and is led by a cooperative effort with our local Scioto, Adams, and Brown County Soil campers 2.JPGand Water Conservation Districts as well as with partners from Shawnee State Park and Forest, Shawnee State University, and ODNR Division of Wildlife.  The camp, led by working professionals, will give attending campers insight to career paths and real world applications of the science they study.
Camp will be held July 23-25 and includes two overnights and two full days of camp activities.  Registration paperwork is currently being accepted for camp and spots will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. Thanks to the generous support of The Scioto Foundation fees for CSI: Shawnee Science Camp are only $30.00 for this great experience.  The registration form and more information can be found online at or by contacting the Scioto Soil and Water Conservation District at 740-259-9231.
