Donald “Dee” McLaughlin, 89, of Columbus, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at his home. He was born April 7, 1929 in Portsmouth to the late, Raymond McLaughlin and Captola Black Spencer. He worked for Selby Shoes and then went on to work for the Ohio School of Deaf for 31 years. Dee is also a member of the Columbus Association for the Deaf, Ohio School of Deaf Alumni Association and the Booster Association, Portsmouth Association of Deaf, and the Columbus Colony Senior Citizens for the Deaf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris McLaughlin and a step-son, Bruce Anderson.
Dee is survived by his step-children; Martha, Bob, Steve, and Brent Anderson, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Betty Reid.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018 at Melcher Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Burial Park.
A visitation for friends and family will be Friday from noon until time of service at 1:00 PM at Melcher Funeral Home.
