The annual Tree City Celebration will be held at Tracy Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday, April 21st. The event will take place from 12-3 PM and will be free and open to the public. Come and celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Day in the Park!
The event will open with a proclamation from our city officials and be followed by a performance by Portsmouth Elementary Choir. Also performing at the event will be the Community Drum Circle and Steve Free.
Vendors, booths and activities will be all around the park and the event does feature many of the Farmer’s Market Vendors in a market preview. Vendor and booth space is still available and interested parties, including organizations interested in public outreach should contact Kate Sowards at 740-259-9231 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Tree seedlings will be given away by the Portsmouth Tree Commission thanks to a generous donation from American Savings Bank. A tree sponsored by Southern Ohio Medical Center will be planted in Tracy Park to commemorate the occasion. This year we are also celebrating a donation from the Scioto Foundation to Main Street Portsmouth to benefit the Tree Commissions’ Adopt a Tree program.
