New Boston Police Department (NBPD) issued a commendation for a job well done in recognition of Officers Ethan Carmichael and John Howard who were responsible for a 20-gram heroin bust on March 1.
“Officers Carmichael and Howard did show initiative and attention to detail while on patrol in the 4400 blk. of Gallia Street, where they conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of Corey Dyer,” the commendation reads.
Dyer is 26 of Franklin Furnace. He was accompanied by two male passengers from Dayton. In addition to the 20 grams of heroin, the officers seized syringes and other forms of drug abuse and trafficking paraphernalia. The items have been sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
“Because of your willing attitude, work initiative and attention to detail I would like to commend you for a job well done,” the commendation stated.
Chief Steve Goins recognized the contribution of the officers during Tuesday night’s Village Council meeting.
Both Carmichael and Howard are new to the force, joining the end of 2017.
