Scioto County will be electing a new Common Pleas judge this November. Judge William T. Marshall announced his resignation Friday. Marshall left the elected position before his term had expired.
On Monday, Scioto County Prosecutor Mark Kuhn announced that he will seek election to the vacated seat. Kuhn has asked the Scioto County Republican Central Committee to nominate him as the candidate this November.
Kuhn has been heavily involved in the local justice system for decades. He has worked as the Scioto County Prosecuting Attorney for 13 years. As County Prosecutor, Kuhn was responsible for prosecuting criminal cases and serving as the legal counsel for the County, including County officials.
Kuhn has also practiced civil law locally for 10 years and served as Portsmouth City Prosecutor for nine years.
The election for the unexpired term will be November 6, 2018.
