Comment Period Open For U.S. 52 Culvert Rehabilitation

As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) – District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a culvert rehabilitation project on U.S. Route 52 in Scioto County.

SCI-52-33.11 (PID: 107618) – It is proposed to rehabilitate a structure that is located between the S.R. 522 and S.R. 253 interchanges in Green Township of Scioto County. The existing structure is an 84-inch corrugated metal pipe, and it will be lined with a 48-inch pipe linter. The project also includes the installation of rock channel protection (RCP) at the outlet of the structure.

The project will not require any new right of way, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project. A contract is scheduled to be awarded in the summer of 2018, and although a closure of the route will not be necessary, short-term closures and/or lane restrictions may be in effect during construction.

Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.

Written comments should be submitted by March 22, 2018, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
