The Portsmouth Police Department would like to announce that the investigations bureau has linked several residential burglaries in the city through DNA testing. Officers have been actively investigating several residential burglaries that have occurred in the north end of Portsmouth. Officers impounded items from four locations and sent those items to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Identification (BCI&I) for analysis. Based on the results from the DNA testing, the suspect, David E. Jamison II, was linked to each incident.
On Jan. 21, 2018, the suspect, Mr. Jamison, stole a vehicle in the 1900 block of Kendall Ave. Mr. Jamison then crashed that vehicle in the area of Kinney’s Ln. and Franklin Ave. Mr. Jamison fled the accident, on foot, southbound on Franklin Ave. Mr. Jamison committed a breaking and entering and two burglaries in the area of Franklin Ave. Mr. Jamison was captured by one of the homeowners after finding the suspect inside his home.
Mr. Jamison has been indicted by the Scioto County Grand Jury on the below listed charges:
- Aggravated Burglary / Felony 1
- 2 counts of Burglary / Felony 2
- Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle / Felony 4
- Breaking and Entering / Felony 5
- Failure to stop after an accident / Mis. 1
