Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini announces that his 911 center received a call on October 26, 2017 from a residence located on White Gravel Dewey Extension Road in Minford Ohio stating that two male subjects had busted into her home and robbed her.
Sheriff Marty V. Donini stated that a deputy’s along with detectives responded to this location where a report was taken, during this investigation detectives learned that the two males suspects entered the residence with their faces covered brandishing a firearm and forced the male to lay face first on the ground, the female was struck in the head with the firearm which caused her to fall to the floor. The two males later used zip ties and tied both of the adults hand behind their backs and made threats that they were going to kill them. Detectives reported that several young children were inside this house during the time of the robbery and were unharmed.
Captain John W. Murphy stated that detectives were able to collect evidence from inside the residence that was later sent to the BCI&I for processing for possible DNA and fingerprints. During this ongoing investigation detectives were able to identify the possible suspects which resulted in one suspect that was on parole being interviewed then being returned back to prison on previous charges pending the outcome of this investigation. The other suspect was later located and interviewed.
Captain John W. Murphy stated that this case was sent to the Scioto Grand Jury that resulted in an indictment warrant being issued to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office on both suspects on February 28, 2018. On March 1, 2018 detectives received information on the location of the firearm that was used during this robbery and were able to later recover this firearm. Detectives responded to Pleasant Ave. Portsmouth Ohio and were able to arrest one of the suspects without incident. The other suspect was already being held in the Ohio department of rehabilitation and corrections and was served his indictment warrant.
Arrested was Beau Fisher age 50 of Portsmouth Ohio and Derrick Mills age 35 of Pleasant Ave. Portsmouth Ohio. Both Fisher and Mills have been charged with 2 counts of aggravated robbery a felony of the 1st degree, 2 counts of kidnapping a felony of the 1st degree, one count of aggravated burglary a felony of the 1st degree and one count of felonious assault a felony of the 2nd degree. Mills is being held in the Scioto County jail without bond and Fisher is being held in the Ohio department of rehabilitation and corrections without bond both will appear in the Scioto County Common Pleas court on a later date.
