Comment Period Open For Scioto-239 Culvert Project

As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a culvert rehabilitation project on state Route 239 in Scioto County.

SCI-239-0.72 (PID: 102444) – It is proposed to rehabilitate the structure located at the 0.72-mile marker on S.R. 239, between T.R. 362 (Westgate Road) and T.R. 388 (Pine Lodge Road) at West Portsmouth, by paving the bottom of the existing structure with concrete.

The project will not require any new right of way, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project. A contract is scheduled to be awarded in October 2018, and although a closure of the route will not be necessary, short-term closures and lane restrictions may be in effect during construction.

Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.

Written comments should be submitted by March 16, 2018, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
