East science teacher, Brian McClure, was suspended last Thursday, Feb. 22 without pay, according to East High School Principal James Mahlmeister.
It is unclear why exactly McClure was suspended, though there were accusations on social media of sexual misconduct involving a student.

Sgt. Steve Timberlake of the Portsmouth Police Department stated that he had no information on any investigation into McClure at this time.
The Scioto County Candor attempted to reach out to McClure; however, as of press time, he has not responded.
